A field of clover

January 18th, 2008

Bryan planned a date night for tonight. Bob and Maryanne watched the boys while we ate at Pat’s Barbecue (featured in my list of restaurants I want to try). Good stuff. We got the three-meat combo (ribs, shredded pork, and chicken) with sides of cole slaw and meaty gravy & rice (Bryan’s choice, in case you didn’t guess). The shredded pork and chicken were excellent. The ribs were good, but not as good as the other two. I also got a slice of pecan pie for dessert - delicious. I see us going back to Pat’s within the near future. Kid-friendly, too.

After dinner, we saw Cloverfield. I liked it - it seemed original, though I’m not sure why. Love story, monster destroys NY, it’s been done before. I guess just not in this way. All-in-all, a fun night.

I also dropped off five (!) small quilts (for the Africa quilt project) that Maryanne offered to bind. Very generous of her.
