Disgusting!

February 2nd, 2008

This morning we picked up the boys from my parents’ house. Bryan and Rees left for the afternoon to go shoot off rockets. Apparently Rees was not too happy about the noise level of the rocket, but he did find a nearby playground.

After the kids were in bed, we pulled apart the pipes under the kitchen sink. Ever since we moved in, there has been a bit of a funky smell when running the water, and one side didn’t drain properly (still worked, but was slower than it should be). I have Drain-O’d, plunged, snaked, you name it - didn’t help. Lately, the smell had become much worse, and we found out why. The pipe that runs from one side of the sink to the other was almost completely full of sludge. So gross. Possibly the grossest thing I’ve dealt with. But, ’tis now clean and smell-free, and both sides of the sink drain nicely. But ugh, it was terrible.

After that mess we watched Ratatouille. Cute story, fresh ideas. Unexpected. The 96% rating on RT seems a little high, but I suppose this is probably in comparison with the other “G” movies being released as of late.
