The damage
February 13th, 2007
This morning we got an estimate to repair the Mazda after last week’s hit-and-run - $472 (the scratches on the bumper are more expensive to repair than the busted taillight). Then we did some grocery shopping.
I got a reply back from EWB regarding their need for blanket donations. They need crib and twin size blankets (quilts, afghans, etc). I am excited about this because I have fabric I was planning to get rid of that I can use to make some tops. And, I can practice my machine quilting skills without being a huge perfectionist about it. I am pumped about this whole idea.
For stake Mutual tonight, the beehives made Valentimes cookies. Which is quite the coincidence, since I was planning a very similar project for Rees and I. Anyway, the girls had fun. Today is Jennifer’s birthday, and her mom sent over a birthday cake to share. Very nice. I also got to know Corinne better - she is the new YW secretary for the Jefferson ward. Turns out she worked at Cottonwood and knows Bob (and likes him!
). Small world.
After the boys were in bed, I got a head start on our Valentimes Day cookie project. Tomorrow will be busy, so I decided to bake the cookies and make the frosting ahead of time. I made sugar cookies and cream cheese frosting. I added a bit of lemon extract to both, and pink color to the frosting. Very yummy! I intended to do heart-shaped cookies, but apparently we don’t have a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Plan B was dinosaurs, but those were pretty big and I didn’t have much dough. Last resort = medium-sized flowers.
