A little driving music
March 23rd, 2007
This morning I was driving the Mazda back to Abra to have the tail light fixed, and the engine was just running really unevenly, like last night only way worse. The “check engine” light came on and began to flash. I called Bryan, who called D. Dahle, who told us to bring it in right away. I went ahead to Abra and had the tail light fixed (it turned out to be a burned-out bulb) and then went across the street to D. Dahle. Bryan met us there in the Jimmy. We ran a few errands, took him back to work, and headed home. It would be nice to have the Mazda in full working order again soon. They didn’t have time in their schedule to look at it until Monday.
Today I made a new mixtape* for driving. Here is the lineup:
- U2 - Vertigo
- Fall Out Boy - This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race
- Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To
- Lisa Loeb - Fools Like Me
- Alanis Morissette - Crazy (James Michael Mix)
- Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine
- The Decemberists - O Valencia!
- Lily Allen - Smile
- Grant Lee Buffalo - Testimony
- The Pointer Sisters - Jump (this is Rees’s favorite song right now)
- The Killers - Read My Mind
- Modest Mouse - Dashboard
- The Wallflowers - Three Ways
- Jamiroquai - Alright
- Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
- Oasis - Acquiesce
- Snow Patrol - You’re All I Have
- R.E.M. - Leaving New York
- Rufus Wainwright - I Don’t Know What It Is
*of course, it’s a CD, but mixCD doesn’t have the same ring to it
