Date night

Tonight the boys went to stay over with my parents, so Bryan and I had the night to ourselves. We went to dinner downtown at Settebello Pizzeria. They make pizza Napoletana style, which is different in a couple of ways. The main differences are that they use special tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and they cook the pizza in a super-hot oven for less than a minute. We had a pretty classic antipasto appetizer (Misto), and then we had the house Settebello pizza (fresh basil leaves, mushrooms, sausage, pancetta, and pine nuts). It was very good. Bryan enjoyed the appetizer, but wasn’t sure about the pizza. I tried a new drink - Pellegrino Aranciata. Yummy!!! Maybe my new favorite.

Later we watched Shoot Em Up. I did not like it. I have read that it is supposed to be a send-up, over-the-top satire of the genre, but I just didn’t like it. It wasn’t funny. I read a comment that I basically agree with - “satire without insight”. A WAY better movie with a similar motive is Hot Fuzz. That movie is absolutely hilarious.
