Today we went to to the Tulip Festival with my mom. Today may be our last chance, because it’s going to rain & snow the rest of this week.
Jamie’s favorite part? The the owl & goose nests on the cliffs by the waterfalls.
Rees’ favorite part? Rolling down grassy hills.
As always, you can click on any picture to see it larger.

James is obsessed with any & all animals – most especially, feeding them.

We went to church with Grandma B & Grandma K this morning, then relaxed for a while in the afternoon. Jamie was pretty excited to see some new calves being brought in (he’s obsessed with farm animals – especially cows & horses). He wasn’t in a mood to be photographed.

Few days go by where James doesn’t ask me to take him to feed ducks. It’s one of his favorite activities. The park we like to go to has a large flock of non-aggressive birds, including some babies.

James & I spent the afternoon @ the zoo with friends. In the pictures below, you’ll see Jamie’s “twin”, Quinn. Quinn is about six months older than Jamie, but it is like the same little personality in two bodies. I’ll be talking to Cashell about something James said or did, & it always just-so-happens that Quinn said or did the same thing. And when they play together, it is freaky. They have the same mannerisms, say the same phrases, make the same faces, have the same attitude. Hilarious.

The boys love the creek at the ranch – it entertains them for hours. We spent the morning catching frogs, feeding cows, and playing in the creek. There were two bulls that loved the kids and would come stand nearby anytime the kids were playing on the bridge over the creek.
You can see pictures of Rees here and pictures of Jamie here. Thank you to Maryanne for taking some of these as well. Here are some favorites:

We had a low-key holiday. I spent most of the day outside in the yard planting. I finished planting the shady bed under the apricot tree in the back, and got started planting in the bed on the north side of the backyard. While I was planting in the shade, I noticed four baby birds in Diane’s back yard – it looked like they’d fallen out of their nest. Three were still alive and chirping, but much too small to survive (eyes still closed). I looked up some instructions on the internet and ended up putting some dry grass clippings in the bottom of a plastic milk jug (top cut off). I put the birds in the “nest” and attached it to the fence, near where I found them, with zip ties. They were still chirping, so I hope the mother will hear them and come take care of them. I wish I had taken pictures.
Bryan repaired the automatic door lock on the Mazda today (the driver’s side auto lock broke while I was in Arizona earlier this year). After being quoted $225 and $150 by two mechanics, Bryan decided to install the $70 part himself. He did a great job and was done in about an hour. He says it only took him that long because he spent about 20 minutes trying to put it in backward.
